Brain Theory

As educators we have come to realise that there is a definite link between our brain - its structure and its processes - and the way in which we learn. It seems rather strange to me that so many of us graduated with education qualifications without any real notion of how the brain works and how we can best use it to help us learn. It would seem pivotal to good learning that students should know how their most important tool works.

In this series of workshops participants will explore the work of educationalists including:

  • John Joseph
  • Julia Atkin
  • Howard Gardner
looking at the brain and its structure, Thinking and Learning styles and Multiple Intelligences, and how these can be developed and used in our classrooms.

Whoever, wherever, you are, you are using - to read these words - the most beautiful, intricate, complex, mysterious and powerful object in the known universe: your brain.
